0bull Cast — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

0bull Cast broadcasts the screen of the device it is installed on to a server you run, on a network you choose. This page describes every piece of data the app touches and where it goes.

The short version: we do not receive any of it. There is no 0bull-operated server anywhere in this app’s data path. Nothing is collected by us, stored by us, sold, shared, or used for advertising or analytics — because none of it ever reaches us in the first place.

What the app sends, and to whom

Everything below travels to exactly one destination: the server address you typed into the app (or that your own automation passed to it over the zerobull:// URL scheme). That server is normally a machine on your own local network. The app has no other network destination and contacts no third-party service.

DataWhenWhere it goes
Your screen contents, as an encoded H.264 video streamOnly while a broadcast is running — that is, only after you tap Start Broadcast on iOS’s own confirmation sheetYour server, over WebRTC
Device identifier (identifierForVendor)With each broadcast, as the X-0bull-Device HTTP headerYour server
Connection statistics — bitrate, frame rate, packet loss, memory useEvery 5 seconds, and only if you switch Stats → server + local log onYour server

identifierForVendor is an identifier iOS generates for this app on this device. It is not your Apple Account, your phone number, your advertising identifier, or any hardware serial. It changes if you delete and reinstall the app. Your server uses it to tell one broadcasting device apart from another.

About the screen stream

While a broadcast is live, whatever is on the screen is in the stream — including anything you open in other apps. iOS makes this unmistakable: it shows the system Start Broadcast sheet before any recording begins, and it marks the status bar red for the whole session. You can stop at any time from the status bar or Control Center. The app cannot start, extend, or hide a broadcast without that system sheet.

What stays on the device and never leaves it

  • Your server address, port, and publish token — held in this app’s private App Group container, shared only with its own broadcast extension.
  • The debug log — written only while Stats → server + local log is on, capped at 2 MB with one rotation, kept inside the same private container. It records connection events and stream statistics. It contains no screen imagery and no personal content. Nothing reads it or sends it anywhere; you can export it yourself from the app’s Debug section, and it is deleted with the app.

What the app does not do

  • No analytics, telemetry, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs of any kind are present in the app.
  • No data is used to track you across apps or websites. The app does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission because it has nothing to track you with.
  • No accounts, no sign-in, no profile, no contacts, no location, no photos.
  • Despite the camera and microphone permission descriptions iOS shows (they are required because of a component the app links against), 0bull Cast does not capture camera or microphone input. It only broadcasts the screen.

Data retention and deletion

We hold no data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Everything the app produces is either on your device or on your own server:

  • On the device: delete the app. Its settings, publish token, and debug log go with it.
  • On your server: retention is entirely your decision, under your control, and governed by your own policies.

Children

0bull Cast is an operational tool for streaming a device’s screen to a server its owner runs. It is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone.

Security

Connections to your server use the network protection you configure. The app is built for an isolated local network segment and permits plain HTTP there by default; if you point it at a server reachable over the wider internet, enable TLS so the stream and your publish token are encrypted in transit.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
